Mumbai Vibe: Soak Up The Mumbai Culture At Bandra’s Latest Eatery

In the past few years, Bandra has become one of the destinations in Mumbai to enjoy a meal out. Whether you’re in search of roadside eateries dishing out quick, delicious fare or upscale fine dining restaurants, Bandra has it all.

One of the newest kids on the block is Mumbai Vibe, a venture from Spicy Sangria Hotels Pvt Ltd, which is looking to encapsulate the charm and vibrancy of Mumbai in the experience it offers.

We stopped by Mumbai Vibe last week and found that it had done the city proud.

The Menu

In line with the city’s diverse culture, Mumbai Vibe’s menu boasts both local and international dishes; some are a delicious fusion of both. For instance, the breakfast combo menu includes an ‘American Vibe’ breakfast (cereal with milk, a platter of fruits, eggs and sausages) side by side the ‘Bombay Vibe Pav Bhaji breakfast.’ The rest of the menu follows a similar pattern with sections like Mumbaiya Tacos and dishes like ‘Mrs Fernandes Home Style Risotto’ and Keema Pao sliders.

The drinks menu is also eclectic; while it has classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned and the Bloody Mary it also offers signature cocktails like ‘Worli’s Sea Breeze’ and ‘Lower Parel’s Uptown Funk’. There are also alcoholic Chuskis and ‘Popping Bottles’ in flavours like Ko Ko Yum and Hibiscus breeze.

Tasting The Talk

After finding Mumbai Vibe, neatly tucked a turn off Linking Road and taking the time to allow the AC and quirky decor to soothe our sun frazzled nerves, we called for the Pop Love, a drink which was served to us in a champagne flute and topped with flakes of edible silver. While it was an undoubtedly elegant, refreshing drink it has a childhood twists thanks to the Magic Pops which were poured into the drink giving it a unique texture and added zing.

We then enjoyed a glass of Bombay Gymkhana Prawn Cocktail, served in a bed of dry ice, where pink, Juicy prawns competed for attention with a delicious smooth mayonnaise based sauce. Following that was a hearty serving of Oven Baked Chatpati Chicken Wings, which were served on skewers. The chicken itself has an earthy, wholesome flavour while the sauce coating it was rich and packed with spices.

For our mains, we had the Amritsari Fish and Chips With Tartare Sauce and Ms Fernandes Homestyle Risotto. The fish was covered with a mildly spicy crust which balanced beautifully with the tartare sauce. However, what really captured our hearts was the rissotto – it’s truly one of the best risottos we’ve had. Kudos to Mrs Fernandes. The Risotto rice was perfectly cooked and at home in a rich, buttery sauce.

Finally, we rounded off our meal with the Chocolate Bomb which, when cut open yielded a stream of thick dark chocolate that left us with a sweet taste for many hours to come.

Even if you don’t have the Chocolate Bomb, we imagine that a meal at Mumbai Vibe will leave you with pleasant tastes for the rest of your day. With its quirky vibe, menu, beautifully executed fare (especially that magic risotto) and drinks, it’s a new kid on the block to reckon with.
