It will begin expansion into Maharashtra with a plant in Nagpur which it will invest Rs.10-15 crores to revamp and Rs.30 crore to procure milk. “We are in talks with the Maharashtra government for a new plant in Bhiwandi that may require investment of around Rs 150 crore,” Nagarajan S, MD of Mother Dairy said to the Times Of India.

Additionally, the company is planning to set up a plant for fruits and vegetables in Jharkhand; this will contribute to Mother Dairy’s Safal wing, which focuses on retailing fresh fruits and vegetables as well frozen produce, juices, sauces and pickles.

It will also strengthen the Safal band by revamping Safal stores which sell the produce; it will spend upto Rs.15 lakh for each store’s revamp.
