Messi Donates The Leftover Food From His Wedding To Charity

on

The footballing world is forever divided when it comes to Ronaldo and Messi, (I, for one, am a Ronaldo fan). However, we can all agree that a kind and caring act, no matter whom it comes from, should be appreciated. There is definitely a dearth of human kindness in the world today, so these acts are to be appreciated.

According to Rosario Food Bank director Pablo Algrain, Messi donated all the leftover food and drink to charity. “It all arrived to the store and we’re controlling it,” Algrain told Efe. “We don’t yet know quite how much there is.”

Algrain continued: “We explained to the wedding organisers that we can accept soft drinks and snacks, but that we’d have to change alcoholic drinks for money because we cannot accept them.”

The wedding was a veritable who’s who of the footballing world as his teammates descended from across the globe to be a part of Messi and Antonella’s happy day. Guests included pop sensation, Shakira, Neymar Jr, and Puyol and was a momentous affair.

In fact according to La Capital newspaper, this is not the first act of solidarity that the couple showed on their big day, with Messi and Roccuzzo requesting of guests in their invitation to donate to Techo, a non profit organisation that helps families in extreme poverty, instead of buying them gifts in a message that reportedly said: “In order to transform our joy to an act of solidarity, in place of a gift, we ask you to donate to Techo.”

These acts of kindness definitely will not go unnoticed and unappreciated. This is what really elevates one to – the greatest of all time.
