A Bottle Of McDonald’s Szechuan Sauce Sold For $15,000 on eBay!

on

So, way back in 1998, McDonald’s Szechuan sauce was born in order to promote Mulan (of course it was). However, it shot back into the limelight almost 20 years later thanks to the season 3 premiere of Rick and Morty aired in April.

Lucky for the fans of McDonald’s Szechuan sauce, McD listened and tweeted out this cryptic response.

Which was followed by this:

One of the winners, writer and podcast host Robert Workman, instead of enjoying the delicious bounty, decided to list his prize on eBay, saying “No matter what amount it ends up at, I hope it ends up in the hands of someone that will thoroughly enjoy it.”

Part of the proceeds will also go to charity; according to the listing, 10 percent will go to Extra Life, an organization that benefits sick and injured children, and another 10 percent will be divided among various charities.

But, because the world just isn’t random enough, Deadmau5 got involved in the bidding which took the price up to a whopping $15,000!

Lucky for Deadmau5 the first bidder backed out, leaving him in full custody of one of the last bottles of McDonald’s Szechuan sauce in the world.
