It’s only the eighth day of the New Year and Mariah Carey is already on top of the trend-setting game with all-new meal term coined for us. Because while all of us are here in 2018 attending brunches, the All I Want For Christmas Is You singer is in 2058 getting ready for “linner”. What’s linner, you ask? Read on to find out!
New Year, New Meals
Carey took to Twitter to announce that she is officially done with the concept of brunch. “A friend called and asked me to do brunch. Come on.. I don’t do brunch, it’s daytime!!,” Carey wrote, adding that she’d rather indulge in a late dinner, a.k.a. “linner”. “I suggested linner instead” Carey wrote — defining the term as “a late dinner!”
Hashtag, “linner is the new brunch”.

Yaaas, queen! Because what’s not to like about a little snack post-dinner, right? Basically, our midnight munchies just got a new and fancier term! Needless to say, fans and followers were quick to appreciate the “Queen of setting trends”, with one fan saying that “if Mariah Carey says linner is the new brunch then we all call brunch linner now.” And many hailing the singer for legitimately christening one of their favourite meals of the day.
