How Many Of These Hot Sauces Have You Tried? #POLL

on

If you like your plate, palate, mouth, and stomach on fire then you are a Scoville slave. For those of you who are not in the know, the Scoville Scale is the measure of the spiciness of various hot foods like peppers, chilies, and sauces. The scale measures the piquancy or the Capsaicin level of these foods in Scoville units (read and find out all about the Scoville scale here). Hot sauces are an excellent way of spicing up meals in an instant. And just like every other ingredient, the piquancy of a food too varies from one palate to another, which is probably why there are a number of hot sauces out there.

Starting from the harmless bell pepper (0 Scoville Units) to the – comparatively – mildly spicy Tobasco Habanero (7,000 – 8,000 Scoville Units), and above the list is very long. And to give you a better perspective, pure capasaicin (read, spicy poison) scores a whopping 15,000,000 – 16,000,000 Scoville Units on the spicy scale. But if you’re a Scoville slave, these should be mere numbers that must not have stopped you from indulging in some dangerously hot sauces available in the market.

So, how many have you tried? Vote below and let us know!
