Maggi lovers will always be maggi lovers, lead or no lead. It took 5 minutes to prove it too. 60,000 Maggi kits were sold out on Snapdeal within 5 minutes as customers rushed to the e-commerice platform to buy the 2-minute noodles.

Snapdeal decision to conduct a unique ‘flash sale’ to sell Nestle’s Maggi was announced last week and has proved to be a successful business model. Maggi is making a comeback after a period of five months.

They will tug at your maggi strings!

Earlier this year, Maggi was banned after allegedly found to contain lead beyond the permissible limit. The registrations for Maggi’s welcome kit began on November 8th but sale began today on Snapdeal. The Maggi Welcome kit included 12 packs of Maggi, a 2016 Maggi calendar, a Maggi fridge magnet, Maggi post cards and a ‘Welcome Back’ letter).

“Snapdeal sold out the first batch of 60,000 Maggi Welcome Kits within 5 minutes of Maggi Flash Sale going live today. There has been much anticipation for the return of one of the favourite Indian brands and we have witnessed a phenomenal response to this sale from customers across the country,” Snapdeal Senior Vice President (Partnerships and Strategic initiatives) Tony Navin said.

Best news ever!

The next batch of Maggi Welcome kits will go on sale from November 16th. Maggi announced its comeback earlier this week and has been relaunched in 100 towns through roughly 300 plus distributors. Maggi’s rollback isn’t in its full swing as it is still banned in eight states.

The Bombay High Court lifted the ban on Maggi after three government-accredited laboratories passed samples of the popular noodles brand.
