Maggi is Back: FSSAI-approved lab finds Maggi to be safe

on

We’ve all been following the news on our favourite brand of noodles, haven’t we? The saga has the nation divided. Those who feel the targeting of Nestle’s popular noodles is unjustified while other maintain that’s it might be for the best. But, no matter which side of the fence you’re on, you have to admit you probably have loved Maggi at some point of time!

Well, if in the last few months you have ever wished for the comeback of the noodles(like we have), we have good news for you! FSSAI-approved laboratory of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) has found Maggi noodles to be in compliance with the country’s food safety standards.

Yes, that’s right!CFTRI tested five samples sent by Goa Food and Drug Administration (FDA) when Maggi was banned in June in the wake of findings in Uttar Pradesh and other states that the instant noodles brand had lead levels beyond permissible limits. Back in June, Nestle had to take Maggi off the shelves, after few states decided to ban the noodles. FSSAI had also banned Maggi instant noodles terming them “unsafe and hazardous” for human consumption.

To turn the tide around, Nestle has appointed a new MD, who has said that bringing back of Maggi is his topmost priority as he sought to strike a conciliatory note with authorities. Maggi is Nestle Indias top selling product.
