If there is one thing that binds all us night owls together – apart from insomnia – it’s probably the midnight hunger pangs. And just in case you’re not in the know, craving food late after everyone’s asleep is a common phenomenon. Did you know that this urge is a remnant of a now-defunct survival mechanism in which eating large meals at night would help our ancestors store energy in times of famine?
But that was years ago and although now there are plenty of ways and diet tweaks to either cut down on the calories you scoff down at midnight or even get rid of these pangs all together, we’d rather just fight our willpower and grab that bowl of milk and cereal.
