Foodies, behold yet another exciting TV show that will feature the rich and falvoursome culinary heritage of India – Utsav: Thalis of India. Hosted by ace chef Kunal Kapur, the show will be aired on Living Foodz and will take viewers on a culinary voyage across 18 Indian cities.
“During the course of the shoot, I have had the fortune of experiencing some of the most wonderful food legacies and traditions passed on through generations from cities across the country. Viewers will be filled with pride for Indian regional cuisine after watching this show,” said Kapur in a statement.
What Is The Show About?
Kapur will map out Indian food by exploring each and every region on his itinerary whilst learning a lot more than just the city’s gastronomical traditions. Utsav will showcase the cities along with fascinating anecdotes about its people, the regional delicacies, local ingredients, cooking, and food-serving techniques. He visits the homes of the locals, temples and marketplaces to discover the vibrant culture and thalis of each city, reports The Times of India.
While the spotlight will be on every regions food, a special focus will on the thali (platter) element of each place. The season finale will see Kapur putting together a Grand Thali that will draw inspiration from each of the kitchens that he would have visited on the show. A panel of chefs, authors, and restaurateurs will sample this majestic Indian platter that will feature foods from across India.
You can catch the show on Living Foodz from 16th October.
