Only in Japan will you find different and weird flavours of Kit Kat like it’s the most normal thing on the planet. Gold Kit Kats, Matcha Kit Kats, Melon & Mascarpone Kit Kat, you name it, they’ve got it. And now, they have liquid nitrogen added to their menu.
The Tokyo pop-up “Kit Kat Chocolatory Wonderland” dips into the world of molecular gastronomy with their new product, the “Minus-196 Degrees Celsius Kit Kat”, which is frozen using liquid nitrogen.
Japan has eight Kit Kat Chocolatory boutiques that have seasonal, premium and limited edition Kit Kats that are making the news every other day. This specific new Kit Kat will be available for a limited time only and is being marketed as “Below Freezing”. This new frozen Kit Kat is said to be especially “cool, crisp and crunchy”.
How does this work?
Customers can create their own Kit Kats, with ingredients like pineapple, marshmallow, caramel corn and others as toppings and then the staff members will cool the custom candy bar in liquid nitrogen.
This shop will be open from August 5th to August 16th, and customers can make the most of this new treat. But for those that don’t live in Tokyo and can’t attend this event, can get two new “Tasty in Frozen” bars that will be released by Kit Kat and come in passion fruit and raspberry flavours and are meant to be enjoyed frozen.
