A ‘Khichdi’ Themed Restaurant Is Going To Come Up In India

on

If you grew up in the era of meaningful Hindi comedy serials, you would be well acquainted with names like Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai, Great Indian Comedy Show, and one of Indian TV history’s craziest families, the Parekh family, who had the country reverberating with peels of laughter in the popular show Khichdi. And soon you may be able to eat up your love for the show.

The makers of Khichdi, Aatish Kapadia and JD Majethia, are planning to launch a themed restaurant based on elements of the comedy series. While the location, cuisine, and other such details of the restaurant remain unknown, the Gujarati features of Khichdi and the Parekhs will be highlighted in the restaurant’s theme.

“The love that ‘Khichdi’ has got and keeps getting is phenomenal. The last we heard of a restaurant opening influenced by a TV show was for ‘Friends’. But for the first time, we are planning to open a restaurant based on the Gujarati theme of our show, ‘Khichdi’,” Majethia, producer of the show, said in a statement.

Meanwhile, it’s party time for fans of the cult show, as the makers are planning a comeback under the same banner with the original star cast – Supriya Pathak, Vandana Pathak, Anang Desai, and Rajeev Mehta.
