Kareena Kapoor Khan Has Inspired Rujuta Diwekar’s Latest Book, ‘Pregnancy Notes’

When it comes to eating healthy and getting in shape the right way, one of the best people to consult in India is celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar. With a star-studded clientele and with celebs like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt to vouch for her, Diwekar has well established her presence in the industry. The health expert recently launched her new book ‘Pregnancy Notes’, which deals with eating the right food “before, during, and after pregnancy”.

Now, what’s better than a health guide by the country’s leading nutritionist? A guide that has been tried and tested by Kareena Kapoor, of course! According to Diwekar, the actress and her son Taimur Ali Khan have inspired her book.

“That I write this book was entirely her idea,” Rujuta told Hindustan Times, adding, “Her weight loss, post pregnancy and the way she sizzled all through her pregnancy has created the same curiosity as the time she had size zero. And, Kareena is eager to share all that goes behind a healthy pregnancy with her fans.”

What’s Inside?

So, what can we expect from Diwekar’s latest book? Pregnancy Notes is a comprehensive guide for pregnant women looking to maintain their fitness level at all the stages. The book comes equipped with diet plans, recipes and information on pregnancy.

A big fan of busting myths, Rujuta cracks down on certain widely believed pregnancy fads as well, like the belief that during pregnancy, rice and ghee are good for health and so is weight training. “I hope that the book provides the right education both in terms of food and exercise,” she says.

The book talks beyond just good eating, adding that if a woman is active during pregnancy, she would return to shape easily within weeks of delivery. “With tennis player Serena Williams winning grand slams during pregnancy, people are more receptive to the idea of exercise during pregnancy”, she said adding that “It’s great for the baby; for an effortless delivery and to maintain good muscle tone and bone density. The problem is that most people, pregnant or not, confuse exercise with exertion but there is a huge difference between the two.”
