JW Marriott Chandigarh Recreates Munich and Brings To Life A Relic From The Very First Oktoberfest

on

With the nights getting cooler, residents of The City Beautiful have begun feeling the festive nip in the air.

Stepping up this festive fervour, 35 BREWHOUSE, the in-house microbrewery at JW Marriott Chandigarh is bringing to Chandigarh the globally revered German festival of Oktoberfest, held every year in Munich, Germany. A celebration of joyous brews and delightful German delicacies, beginning September 24, the second edition of Oktoberfest at 35 BREWHOUSE will coincide with the festival in Germany and will witness the celebrations in true German style.

Recreating Munich, the home of Oktoberfest, in the heart of Chandigarh, 35 BREWHOUSE is bringing to life a relic from the world’s very first Oktoberfest in the form of ‘Märzenbier’. An Oktoberfest favourite brew, Märzenbier was the beer served at what became the first Oktoberfest celebration – the wedding reception for Bavarian King Ludwig I and Maria Theresa 185 years ago.

Märzenbier has historically been associated with the change of seasons, the onset of autumn and the celebrations that take place at that time. With the autumn season kicking in, patrons of JW Marriott Chandigarh will have the opportunity to relish this authentic and specially crafted brew at the Oktoberfest celebrations from September 24 to October 6 at 35 BREWHOUSE.

For food lovers, Oktoberfest at 35 BREWHOUSE offers a curated menu of delightful German delicacies that pair perfectly with a wide gamut of beers and beer cocktails being introduced for the occasion. Doing justice to the delicately balanced Bavarian palate, the menu for Oktoberfest comprises traditional favourite grubs like Flammkuchen, which is the German version of a pizza, the world famous Pretzels, Chicken Schnitzel and much more. These delectable delights have been prepared using meticulous cooking techniques by highly skilled in-house chefs so as to offer guests an authentic experience full of robust flavours and alluring aromas.

“It gives us immense pleasure and satisfaction in serving signature international recipes of brews and food from Munich to the passionate, well-travelled and experimental denizens of Chandigarh who love to see us going the extra mile to delight them. Together with the F&B offerings, our Oktoberfest celebrations will recreate Munich in the heart of The City Beautiful as our patrons will be greeted to a themed décor at 35 BREWHOUSE by traditionally attired staff,” said Chef Naveen Handa, Executive Chef, JW Marriott Chandigarh.

JW Marriott Chandigarh persistently strives to serve exclusive culinary experiences which you will not come across anywhere else in the region. The truly authentic German food and beverage offerings of the Oktoberfest menu at 35 BREWHOUSE are another milestone in a long list of global menus introduced by the hotel.

The Oktoberfest is a German festival renowned internationally for drawing beer lovers to exquisite and choicest brews crafted in-house especially for this occasion, perfectly complemented by an assortment of signature Bavarian delicacies. Invoking the true spirit and feel of this 185 year-old German festival, JW Marriott Chandigarh is introducing the flavours of Bavaria through choicest ales and lagers, coupled with traditional German delicacies served throughout the day during the Oktoberfest celebrations from September 24 to October 6.

Enhancing the fun quotient, the serving staff at 35 BREWHOUSE will be dressed up exactly like Bavarian locals, sporting the appearances of men in Lederhosen and women in Dirndl, to go with the themed décor, thus recreating an authentic ambience of Oktoberfest and transporting guests savouring Oktoberfest-themed brews and pretzels to the meadows of Munich.
