Jeremiah Tower’s Biopic Looks All Kinds Of Inspiring!

on

“Most people would not know who Jeremiah Tower is…”

And that is precisely why everybody needs to know who Jeremiah Tower is! Jeremiah Tower is probably the person for whom the term “celebrity chef” was coined. The man took the American foodscape by storm and shone like a bright star through the 1970s and ‘80s.

The biopic, Jeremiah Tower: The Last Magnificent honours the chef and all his life’s work. It is described as “an exploration of the gathering forces that converged to shape a new American cuisine and create the cult of “celebrity chef“”.

The documentary is produced by Susan Porretta and executive producers are Tenaglia, Anthony Bourdain, Chris Collins, Joe Caterini, Amy Entelis and Vinnie Malhotra. It features interviews of ace chefs like Wolfgang Puck, Martha Stewart, Anthony Bourdain, Mario Batali, and Jonathan Waxman speaking about Tower.

“The story of Jeremiah Tower is the stuff of legends — his brash personality and culinary genius make for a captivating look at the man and the story behind the legend,” said Paul Davidson of The Orchard.

Co-produced by CNN Films and directed by Lydia Tenaglia of Zero Point Zero, the documentary’s trailer is bookended by abstract clips of the chef speaking to himself saying things like “I have to stay away from human beings, because somehow I am not one”, which will get you wondering what the man and this biopic is all about!
