on

Get ready for an extravagant Spanish experience by ‘Food & Wines from Spain’ being hosted this weekend at The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel Mumbai. On Friday, the media got a preview of this lavish meal and we all got to appreciate the fine food and wine presented by the Michelin-Starred Chefs who’ve flown from Spain to make this exemplary dinner a reality. One can head to the Dining Room at the Chambers to experience a dinner right from Friday to Sunday and a lunch as well on Sunday. To cherish the true Spanish experience come for a dinner on Friday and Saturday or a Brunch on Sunday to relish live paella & tapas in a community style way of eating while you’re enchanted by flamenco dancing!

Experience Spain On Your Plate

“We aim to promote Spanish culture in India and cuisine is indeed the cornerstone of any culture. This exclusive event brings together a curated experience for Indians to enthrall them with the best of Spain and its delicacies,” said the Spanish Embassy Economic Counsellor, José Vicente Pérez López. “The Taj Mahal Palace has for decades brought in the best of global experiences, be it in terms of luxury or cuisine. Our tryst with Spanish culture and food was a massive success last year and we are utterly delighted to host the second edition of Spanish Extravaganza,” said Mr. Taljinder Singh, Area Director, Mumbai Hotels and General Manager, The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai.

The dinner is a five course meal presented by Michelin-starred chefs Miguel Barrera Barrachina and Ignacio Solana Perez, paella master Santi Almuina, tapas gurus Maria Varela and Alvaro Villasante. Here one can savour dishes like Catalan Tender Spinach with Curd and Toasted Pumpkin; Warm Lobster Salad; Toasted Vegetable Soup with Crispy Bomba Rice and Saffron Oil; Green Beans, Peas, Spanish Pork Pancetta and Hojiblanca Green Olive Cream; Seafood Paella; Golden Orange with extra virgin olive oil, honey and cinnamon. Our favourites were the soup made with 14 different vegetables, the lovely lobster salad, seafood paella and of course the refreshing dessert. The wines served with each course were select ones and the finest in Spain and the sommeliers Manuel Corralero, Jon Adoni Rementeria, Alejandro Paadin and Magandeep Singh have done a fine job pairing them with the food.
