The Hunger Games Peeta’s Raisin And Nut Bread Recipe

Bread is a recurring symbol in ‘The Hunger Games’, perhaps because Peeta, whose family owns a bakery is an important character. One important scene is when Peeta burns some raisin and nut bread on purpose so he’s allowed to give it to Katniss who he has feelings for.

Instructions
  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Melt the butter.
  3. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon together.
  4. Beat the egg and stir in the applesauce and butter.
  5. Stir this mixture into the flour mixture.
  6. Add the walnuts and raisins.
  7. Grease a loaf pan and pour the batter into it.
  8. Bake in an oven for 45 minutes.
  9. Take out of the oven and allow to cool.
  10. Slice, serve and enjoy!
