Holachef Bags $5 Million In Series B Funding Round

on

Holachef, a popular food delivery platform based in Mumbai has announced that it has raised over Rs.32 crore in a series B round of funding. The funds will be used for team building and logistic infrastructure.

The Holachef Story

Holachef was started by Saurabh Saxena in 2014 and quickly went on to become a favourite food delivery service amongst Mumbaikars.

It has a platform which offers a range of different dishes created and cooked by different chefs each day. Customers can look at the reviews of each dish and place an order on the platform, following which the food will be delivered at a selected time slot.

“Our chefs are the crux of Holachef. Our consumers tell us what they want and our chefs work on making it available. Their passion for getting the food perfect right from getting ingredients to presentation is contagious. We love the way they connect with our consumers through food – it’s kind of a romantic food journey which continues to inspire us,” Saxena told us in an interview about Holachef.

The Funding

The Holachef concept has rapidly caught on as evidenced by the funding it just received. The Series B funding round, which raised $5 million, was led by existing investor Kalaari Capital and also had SIDBI Venture Capital and India Quotient participating.

Saurabh Saxena told ET that ”the capital would be used for team building and scaling logistic infrastructure to streamline the business. “Focus was to get our processes to better serve the Mumbai market and create a more sustainable business model.”

Holachef also plans to open an offline kiosk where people  can directly buy meals from.
