Here’s Why Freddie Prinze Jr. Is Taking A Break From Acting

on

Because he’s all that. And more!

Actor Freddie Prinze Jr. has taken a sabbatical from acting and is focusing on another interesting career option. The I Know What You Did Last Summer actor has been spending a whole lot of his time in the kitchen, a fact that is evident from his recent cookbook Back to the Kitchen, which was released in June this year.

During a cooking demo in New York City, the 41-year-old actor revealed that he is not just another celebrity who has ventured into the kitchen because he – and his beau, Sarah Michelle Geller – has a long-standing relationship with food and cooking. And to rekindle the same, he is taking a break from the big screen.

“My mother worked in restaurants her whole life,” Prinze Jr. said. “That’s where she met my father, at a comedy club in Reno, Nevada. She was the chef there.” Prinze Jr. also said that while growing up, he learned many life lessons “in front of a stove. That’s where my passion about that came,” he told CBS News.

Speaking about his cookbook, which features recipes that require minimal ingredients, the She’s All That actor explained that “everything is nine ingredients or less and two of those ingredients are salt and pepper so that doesn’t count. I try to make everything very simple. A lot of walkaway food, meaning you put in 20 minutes of work and walk away for 90 and do whatever you want.” He added that his favourite recipe from the cookbook is the Holy Bleep Pulled Pork Taco.

A big coffee head, Prinze Jr. recently also teamed up with Dunkin’ Donuts cold brew coffee packs to share his love for coffee with everyone. And we’re guessing – and also hoping – that a whole more is in store for food-loving fans of the actor!
