on

Make way for a slew of Dim Sums as Pan Asian resto-bar Shiro unveils the ‘Dim Sip’ festival this season! Starting on June 29, prepare to give in to your dim sum cravings with a gamut of gourmet dumplings that can be relished with exotic tea-infused cocktails as you enjoy the much – awaited downpour.

The Dim Sip festival has a specially curated menu with 33 different dim sums. Each variant of these dim sums has been intricately crafted fusing together years of expertise and the brand’s love for authentic Pan Asian cooking style. Dim sum lovers can feast on the Beetroot Dumpling, Edamame & Truffle Dumpling, Lemongrass infused Prawn Dumpling and Pork Rib Gua Bao Dumpling among others. Shiro further has a variety of dim sums to cater to all preferences be it vegetarian, non-vegetarian or vegan.

Elevating the grandeur of the Dim Sip festival, Shiro will be serving a first of its kind Jumbo Xiao long Bao to its patrons this year. XLB aka soup dumplings are giant sized-explosive Shanghainese buns filled with sumptuous stew that have to be sipped with a straw before one puts the chopsticks to use.

Xiao long bao (literally “small basket buns,” named for the bamboo baskets they’re steamed in) have delicate skins that encase a chicken-based filling and a meat broth which you may have seen in some viral food videos. During steaming, the broth liquefies, poaching the chicken in a rich, savoury soup. As the dumplings cool, the broth solidifies and the skin hardens, which is why XLB need to be consumed fresh. Shiro is adding its own signature twist by serving large basket sized XLBs which could easily be shared among three to four diners.

Speaking about the Festival, Chef Priyank Singh Chouhan, Senior Brand Chef said “We at Shiro believe in creating close – to – authentic experiences for our patrons and are constantly striving towards bringing the best of Asian dining to the table through our consistent efforts. With monsoons coming early this year, we thought it was the perfect time to introduce a festival celebrating dim sums and hence launch the Dim Sip festival. We have had innumerable trials to ensure that the recipes are perfect and only the best 33 dim sums make it to the final menu. Also, this time the highlight of this festival is a never- been- done before Xiao Long Bao Chicken dumpling- the traditional soup dumpling which is being prepared in a gigantic sized format. We are sure that our guests will savour the offerings on the menu and enjoy the dim sum fare amidst the zen-inspired surroundings.”

Don’t forget to pair your food alongside some unique infused cocktails like Grapefruit & Elderflower Martini that comes replete with some of the favourite flavours like fresh pink grapefruit juice and home-made Elderflower syrup served in a chilled martini glass, Rosemary & Pomegranate Martini with grenadine, fresh rosemary and pomegranate juice and Mystery Merger consisting of tequila and old monk flavoured with cinnamon and bitters. An interesting twist to the cocktail menu is a special edition of an egg and tea-infused  Berry Sour with a tempting combination of whiskey flavoured Blackcurrant syrup, lime and egg white.
