Guys India Is 6th In The World In Terms Of Food Culture!

You don’t need to tell us how awesome the food is here in India! We absolutely love our food! I could eat rice and dal every day and I couldn’t say that for most dishes (except maybe steak, but then I’d be at risk of death). However, we’ve finally got validation (and you know how we love validation) from CNN!

Although we’re not at the top of the list, it’s safe to say that 6th out of 195 ain’t bad at all! Italy tops the list, but you can’t really fault them that, I mean, they did give us pizza and pasta! According to the article where we win, is in terms of flavour.

In their words; “When a cuisine uses spices in such abundance that the meat and vegetables seem like an afterthought, you know you’re dealing with cooks dedicated to flavour.” We also score points when it comes to making delicious vegetarian food and we totally deserve that! Honestly, have you ever had lentils outside India, it’s not the best!

We’ve also got the vast array of cuisines made throughout India that is impressive, to say the least! From the sweetness of butter paneer to the heat from Chettinad cuisine that’s something that you don’t see every day. Let’s not forget chai (FYI, it’s not chai tea white people)! Flavorful and delicious, that’s not something you can say for a lot of tea (tea bag tea, we’re looking at you).

From the South, we’ve also got the brilliant dosa – definitely once of the best foods ever created! Recently there was talk about India’s national dish (some people really hate upma) but hey, who needs a national dish when our food culture is so vast? Isn’t that the best thing about Indian cuisine?
