Grandma’s Cheese Toast Recipe

on

You’re probably wondering whose grandma created this recipe. Mine did. Well, maybe she didn’t create it, but she made it popular and now we call it Grandma’s Cheese Toast Recipe.

For those who’ve eaten Chili Cheese Toast from the sandwichwalah outside your office, this is nothing like that. For one, it’s an ‘open sandwich’ and two, it has egg in it. It’s easy to make and perfect for an evening snack for kids after school or breakfast if you’re in a rush. My grandma used to make this for me when I came back from school on the weekends and she used to make it seem so effortless. She’d be on the phone and talking to the neighbours and just mixing it all up and cooking it and not even flinching or worrying that something was out of place. Food for her was always the best thing about being alive and she made the most of it.

So, I want to share my Grandma’s Cheese Toast recipe with you, because I believe that everyone should experience childhood like I did.
