A glass of Red Wine and an Hour at the Gym are really the same thing.

Pour out a glass of your favourite wine. Yes, red would be great. Sip at it while you read what’s going to change everything you know. Everything. 

The University of Alberta (Bless them) has just told us that drinking a glass of red wine could do the same thing being at the gym could. And we’re talking physical performance, heart function, and muscle strength benefits.

Scientists found in the study that the chemical ‘resveratrol’, naturally found in red wine, has numerous health and heart-positive benefits, including improved physical performance, heart function, and muscle strength. Red wine could actually enhance the cardiovascular benefits of exercise.

“I think resveratrol could help patient populations who want to exercise but are physically incapable. Resveratrol could mimic exercise for them or improve the benefits of the modest amount of exercise that they can do,” Jason Dyck, the principal investigator for the study.

Drink to that. Somebody.
