Game of Thrones ‘Boar’ With Mushrooms And Apples Recipe

on

If you’ve watched the 2016 Emmys or even read the news over the past few days, you’d know that Game of Thrones made history for the record number of Emmys it won. Its not difficult to see why; the show is packed with drama, intrigue, music, great acting and lots and lots of feasts. We’ve already shared a ton of Game of Thrones recipes for dishes like lemon cakes and ‘pigeon pies’ and drinks like the Tears of Lys and mulled wine.

The Boar That Killed King Robert

Today, we’re paying tribute to the amount of Emmys that Game of Thrones won by sharing a recipe for pork with apples and mushrooms, inspired by the feast that was had after King Robert died. You wouldn’t think that anyone would enjoy that feast, but Cersei certainly did – “it tasted like triumph”.

Cersei Lannister

While we weren’t exactly happy that Robert died, it was an extremely important event in the bigger picture as it began the war of the five kings.

Here’s a recipe inspired by the boar (we used regular pork) that was served at the feast. Enjoy it for lunch or dinner with a side of boiled potatoes while you re-watch the Game of Thrones episodes.
