Future Group has tied up with the Indian wing of Nissin Foods to take their products into untapped areas in India. Nissin will help the Future Consumer wing of Future Group distribute its snacks, cookies and packaged goods.
The Present Scenario
At present, Future Group’s Future Consumer Limited (FCL) retails its packaged foods out of Big Bazaar and Easy Day stores which gives it a presence in around 800 outlets.
FCL has a variety of food products under its banner which includes Tasty Treat, Sunkist, Kosh, Sagni’s Kitchen, Veg Affaire and Fresh & Pure.
A Wider Reach
The tie up with the Indian wing of Nissin will help FCL distribute its foods to local stores which will help Future Group reach its aim to generate Rs.20,000 crore in sales from in-house brands.
“We are taking our products and brands to local general trade which accounts for nearly three-fourth of the overall FMCG sales. The scale of our reach will now match the large portfolio that we have created over the last decade,” said Devendra Chawla, the CEO at FCL to the Economic Times.
In India, the retail market is a competition between local vendors and larger chain stores.
