Food Delivery On Seats For US Sports Fans Can Become A Reality

on

Sports lovers soon might not have to stand in a queue or miss a part of their favourite match as the restaurant delivery companies are in talks with the stadium operators to launch food delivery on the seats according to The Post. In fact the first sports fans to get this service might be the fans or Jets and Giants who will be ordering their food via an app.

Grubhub, a food delivery service told The Post, “We’re always looking for new ways to connect our diners with food they want when they want it.” This shows that providing people ease of ordering and tech friendly services is becoming a trend in stadiums. In fact, in the recent NBA and NHL seasons food delivery was tested in the Delta Club section of the Madison Square Garden. This happened during the Knicks and Rangers games and the orders took place via the apps of the teams.

Yankees has also tested food delivery beyond the VIP areas as claimed by Marty Greenspun who’s the senior vice president of strategic ventures for the team. “The technology is changing rapidly and there are teams attempting to do this,” he said.

However, not everyone is pleased by the idea. Tracy Nieporent who is an executive with Myriad Restaurant Group that also operates the Porsche Grille at Citi Field said to The Post, “When vendors come back and forth, it can get in the way of watching a game. It’s like being at a movie and at the most dramatic moment, someone starts chatting.”
