Florida Resident Arrested By Cops Who Thought Doughnut Glaze Was Crystal Meth

on

Daniel Rushing, a Florida resident spent ten hours in the lock up for having some Krispy Kreme donut glaze in his car, which cops – probably after watching too much Breaking Bad – thought was crystal methamphetamine.

The Arrest

Sixty four year old Rushing was pulled over by the police for a road safety violation. When the police walked up to issue him a ticket, they noticed some suspicious white flakes on his car’s floor board. First, they thought it was cocaine and then they moved on to crystal meth. The Orlando Sentinel reports that the police did two road drug tests on the flakes which came back positive for illegal substances.

“I kept telling them, ‘That’s … glaze from a doughnut,” Rushing told the Sentinel. “They tried to say it was crack cocaine at first, then they said, ‘No, it’s meth, crystal meth.'”

Krispy Kreme, Not Crystal Meth

However, a several weeks later lab test results came back stating that the white flakes were not illegal substances.

By this time, Rushing had spent 10 hours in jail and paid a bond fine to get out. He plans to sue the police department for a wrongful arrest.
