on

Burma Burma is about to complete four whole years in Mumbai, which means the restaurant has made its mark with the hard working lot of the city. Not only the restaurant is turning four, but also is celebrating the Burmese New Year, Thingyan and we’re excited to see what’s in store.

Tell Me More

The food at Burma Burma already brings the essence and flavours of Burma as they make authentic delicacies day in and day out. However, during the lovely Thingyan which is much close to Holi, the menu is going to be even more spectacular. First, a little about the festival. It is celebrated over 3-4 days where people engage in a water-splashing on each other which also has a cultural significance.

Now the special menu at Burma Burma will contain sumptuous new delicacies like Kachin Dried Mustard Soup which is packed with the flavours of dried mustard leaves and tomatoes, Grilled Mock Meat skewers, Avocado with Pappadum, a sweet and tangy Tohu Salad seasoned with black jaggery and soy dressing and a crunchy Lotus Roots salad. And these are just the appetizers!

The mains take a whole other level with aromatic dishes like Taungyi Khowsuey, Fried Rice with Dried Soya Bean, Lima Beans Curry and a Stir fried greens with fermented mustard and Tofu. To celebrate the spirit of Thingyan there also special desserts like Coconut Mousse with Ice Apple, Semolina Crumb with Chili Coconut Cream & Mango and Matcha ice cream to end the meal on a refreshing note.
