on

Maybe we can’t go to Spain to enjoy the taste of the country, but The Park, Chennai has decided to bring the taste of Spain to the country. Ending on 27th of July, Ole Espanol brings the Spanish cuisine to us. A2 restaurant always tries to steer away from Indian cuisine and tries to bring something new every month. Chef Rahul Srivatsan says that before they launched the programme, an enormous amount of work had gone into it. He adds that the preparation of the Spanish cuisine, started from the month of April, and he spoke to his friends in Spain to understand the core of Spanish cuisine.

The dinner was started off with Sopa de chorizo de pollo y papa, which includes lentil, and chicken chorizo broth and on the vegetarian side, Pepino y pina gazpacho which was classic Spanish cold soup with a twisted of cucumber and pineapple. The appetiser or aperitivo had croquetas on the vegetarian side. It was prawn dipped in garlic sauce on the non-vegetarian side. Now, for the main course, Pimientos Rellenos de Arroz y fryoles negros which is basically bell peppers stuffed with rice and black beans, spicy chocolate sauce. The non vegetarian side had two dishes, Pescado de chernaa la vasca , which is a fresh catch in green sauce with sauteed vegetables and sweet potato fries on the side and Pollode ternera which is chicken with brandy and mushroom sauce, fennel sponge and saffron rice.

For the dessert, there were Tarta de queso and Miguelitos. Miguelitos had a molten chocolate centre with flaky pastry and Tarta de queso was berry compote with light Spanish cake.
