Enjoy Hearty Delicacies And Range Of Craft Beer At The Newly Opened Effingut In Mumbai

on

Once you’ve asked for their craft beer, the server will keep a board of beer tasters for you at Effingut Mumbai. Here you can see the flavours of the beer mentioned and so can make the choice according to what suits your palate and begin with an awesome time ahead. While sipping on chilled Apple Cider, which we liked the most, we couldn’t wait to begin tasting the food!

Bring On The Food

The vibe at Effingut Mumbai is really great, with latest pop music collection on the music system, we had a great time taking in the sights of the décor. There’s a giant bike at the entrance and to a striking contrast, a wall full of miniature auto-rickshaws on the upper level. The theme seemed quirky and the ambience cosy, meant for lively conversations with friends, family and of course a date.

For starters we tried Prawns Mustard Chilli, Thecha Chicken and Nachos with refried beans. All the appetizers were on point and tasty. The nachos were loaded with sour cream, guacamole and salsa which made it the perfect companion with the beer. Next we tried the prawns which were quite zingy being marinated in mustard and really enjoyed this dish as well. On a fiery note, thecha is essentially a Maharashtrian chutney which is nothing but coarsely ground green chillies. Yep, you guessed it, the chicken was hell spicy and is perfect for spice lovers plus those who love thecha. We surely loved it with all its fieriness and of course the chicken was well cooked and juicy as well.

To calm our palate down after the burst of flavours, we ate large chunks of the Three Cheese Garlic Bread. This was essentially comfort food, in perfect harmony with your favourite craft beer at Effingut Mumbai. As we enjoyed our little palate cleanser, we were served the main course – Chicken Khao Suey with noodles. Lip smacking curry, aromatic flavours native to Burma and a satiating dish, this one is a must try!

After a lovely meal, it was time for dessert and what better than a Tiramisu right? Drenched in liqueur we immediately christened it Drunk Tiramisu. It was boozy, light, and soft, pretty much everything you’d want in this classic Italian dessert.

Ending our meal on a sweet, boozy note, we left Effingut but the essence of the food has stayed with us and we’d love to come back for more. We highly recommend this place to all the townies of Mumbai as it’s located right in the heart of Colaba!
