Enjoy “Goa Scenes” In Delhi At Lady Baga, Connaught Place

on

Missing the crazy party vibe in your daily? Want to get away from the daily madness without spending a bomb on travel? Basically, do you want to go Goa without stepping out of your city? If you feverously just nodded your head ‘yes’ to all those questions, the Delhi-based Lady Baga is the place you need to be this weekend!

The Vibe

Piloted by AD Singh, the playmaker behind the Olive Group (of Olive Bar & Kitchen), Lady Baga brings along with it the best of India’s party coastline when it was in its hay hippy days, the good ol’ 70s. Back when we hadn’t stomped all over the city with party on our minds and when “peace”, “flower power” et al were in vogue.screen-shot-2017-01-12-at-6-21-54-pm

Despite being in the middle of the honking madness of Connaught Place (Lady Baga occupies the spot that previously harboured Monkey Bar), the restaurant packs a relaxed vibe complete with a trippy décor, hammocks, retro tunes strumming in the backdrop, a make believe beach, and digital waves crashing across the walls.

Sabina Singh, who calls this her “happy place, where I just went mad with the colour”, has designed the eatery, along with Clement De’. And do not think even for a minute that it’ll seem made-up or forced to you.screen-shot-2017-01-12-at-6-22-32-pm

The Food

The Goan shack-themed restaurant is colourful, happening, relaxed, and all things Anjuna, Agonda, Baga, Vagatore, Calangute. True to its shack inspiration, the menu will also take you back to the thriving shacks of Baga. The restaurant serves up a fiesty Goan fare. From a gorgeous Pork Vindaloo to a heavenly Goan Prawn Curry, Lady Baga’s Goan food is on point, which doesn’t come as a surprise given AD Singh’s foray into the cuisine at his legendary Soul Fry in Mumbai.screen-shot-2017-01-12-at-6-23-52-pm

Moreover, you get all that you could – and should – at a typical beach shack. So you can be sure of dishing out not just excellent seafood specials, fish preparations, but also an eclectic mix of offerings like all-day breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, delicious thalis, small plates that include French fries, and papad, and of course, heady spirits to wash all that down with.

Speaking of, have you ever tried vodka infused with cashew? Well, now you can! The bar is sheer delight for anyone looking to experiment and venture into the wilds of alcohol. With cocktails and shooters made for the ‘born to be wild’ crowd to, the place also serves up a number of mocktails and soft drinks for the folk who want to party ‘like a virgin’.screen-shot-2017-01-12-at-6-24-13-pm
