Enid Blyton British Scones Recipe

on

As a part of our ongoing recipe series featuring the delicious food from Enid Blyton’s works, today we’re sharing a traditional British scones recipe. Scones crop up through all of Blyton’s works – The Famous Five enjoy them as they traverse through the countryside, the Secret Seven enjoy them at meetings while her girls at boarding schools sneak them into midnight feasts.

British Scones

The scone is a crust single serving cake made with wheat, barley and oatmeal. It’s a popular dish served with tea in England.

British scones are lightly sweetened and can include raisins, currants, cheese and dates.

Serve these scones as a snack during teatime or as a savoury dessert after dinner.
