Easter in Italy: Colomba Pasquale Recipe


Easter is almost upon us. The culmination of the fasting, prayer and penance that one observes before the resurrection of Christ is what the holiday is all about. While decorating Easter eggs and making chocolate eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt is fun, there are a whole load of Easter special foods. Every country has their Easter special foods. In this video we bring you Italy’s Colomba Pasquale which is a cake in the shape of a dove. Here’s how you make it.


In case you don’t have a mould for the cake you can always use a knife to cut out the wings and the head of the bird and use buttercream to put it back together to make it a dove.
