5 Dishes That Taste Better With The Help of Cinnamon

on

A recent study by an Indian scientist at Rush University in Chicago claimed that cinnamon is great for more than just flavour. Apparently eating cinnamon can enhance and improve learning abilities. “This would be one of the safest and the easiest approaches to convert poor learners to good learners,” said lead researcher Kalipada Pahan.

If you needed a better reason to eat cinnamon with every meal, here it is. While there are always studies proving that something is good or bad for you, it’s not imperative that you start eating something just because of a study. But because we love cinnamon and this study gave us some extra research abilities (if you will), we found a bunch of dishes that you can make any time of the day and add some cinnamon to it to make it better than it was before. Or you know, if you’ve never had cinnamon before, now is as good a time as to start.

Hot Chocolate

The classic hot chocolate tastes great as it is, because when you mix cocoa powder or chocolate syrup with hot milk, it already tastes fantastic. You know what would make it even better? Sprinkle some cinnamon over the top of your drink before you serve it. Or you can mix the crushed cinnamon into the cocoa powder before you add the milk or you can use cinnamon sticks to stir your hot chocolate at regular intervals while you’re drinking it. The options are endless!

Ice Cream

Most people might not like adding toppings to their ice cream, wanting to go with a more simple and tasty option of just having one or two scoops of ice cream. But adding cinnamon sticks to the top would help or you can even sprinkle some crushed cinnamon on top and serve it with a mint sprig.

French Toast

We recently did a video on how to make French Toast and we added some crushed cinnamon to the egg and milk mixture before we dipped in the bread. Which makes the flavour of the cinnamon soak into the bread before you cook it. Or you can just sprinkle cinnamon over the French Toast once it’s ready, just to give it something more of a flavour.

Sugar Waffles

Seriously, you can add cinnamon to anything and it’d still taste really good. Like the French Toast, you can just dip your frozen waffles into the mixture of sugar, butter and cinnamon and then cook it till crisp. You can even do this with regular waffles, without having to freeze them or buy the packaged waffles.

Cinnamon Rolls

These might be a little more complicated to make at home, but you can make it easy on yourself and buy the chocolate roll (or any flavour that appeals to you) and warm it up a little, then sprinkle with some cinnamon and it’s good to go. But if you can make it at home, the inner part of the roll should be coated with cinnamon mixed with your flavour of choice and each bite is absolute goodness.
