2016 is a very special year for Dineout and Dineout Plus. Well, the 4-year-old company, which started operation in February 2012, will be celebrating its first anniversary this year. Dineout is a leapling and that’s just one of the interesting parts of this venture.
Dineout is a subsidiary of Times Internet Limited that operates a portfolio of web and mobile properties that seat over 1,00,000 diners a month. Started by a group of Modern School alumni, the restaurant reservation app makes dining out a bit more lenient on your wallet.
The platform empowers the customer to book a table online or through their mobile applications available via Google Play and iTunes and avail exciting offers and discounts. This further facilitates the perspective diners to make hassle-free bookings with confirmed reservations anytime, anywhere.
Currently, Dineout is India’s Largest Table Reservation Service, in partnership with more than 3000 unique diners in various parts of the country, with a presence across major metros of the country ranging from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Pune.
With over 4,50,000 app downloads across Android and iOS, Dineout has managed to build a standing for itself in the F&B arena.
A more well off cousin of Dineout, Dineout Plus is an exclusive membership program that lets you avail massive discounts on your bill. Basically, you can eat out at swanky locations without sacrificing next month’s bills.
Dineout Plus takes luxury dining up a notch. The annual membership costs a measly INR5000 and immediately gets you a flat 25% discount at Dineout’s partner restaurants.
The loyalty card holder can enjoy the membership benefits across four major India cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Bangaluru and Kolkata. The service has partnered up with a number of sparkly properties in these cities including names like The Park, Radisson Blu, Le Meridian, Taj Vivanta and many more.
“We work with more than 158 restaurants, which are based out of 55 5-star hotels where every time you go, you get a 25% discount”, explains Rajat Bhatia, Head of Client Servicing at Dineout.
The Dineout Plus membership comes with a number of advantages that you can enjoy outside of the restaurant as well. “The membership is for people who can enjoy the finer things in life”, Bhatia says.
“The idea behind Dineout Plus was not just to have the membership and do nothing more than dining out with friends and family.
“It (Dineout Plus) is about having a lot of Plus Evenings. What we’re calling it is ‘The Plus Way’ (#ThePlusWay), where you could enjoy some wine events, fantastic looking spreads, etc. We want to include people who think alike about food, lifestyle”, Rajat Bhatia describes.
And if that doesn’t get you excited, this (or an adrenaline shot) definitely will. The membership comes with a referral program.
If a new user enrolls using an existing member’s code, the former instantly gets an INR1000 discount, while the latter is entitled to INR1000 in their Dineout wallet, which can alternatively be transferred to a Paytm wallet and use it elsewhere as well. Basically, if you manage to rope in five more foodies for the program, your card becomes free of cost!
(Ab)Using The Membership
Putting the membership and its perks to use is easier than imaginable. All you have to do – after buying/activating the membership – is make a reservation at a Dineout Plus restaurant and on arrival present your card and share the OTP with the restaurant manager. It’s as simple as that!
Just in case you’re dreading carrying yet another piece of plastic (which is gorgeous, by the way) in your wallet, here’s some more good news: once you activate your membership, the card immediately gets linked to the app on your mobile. Currently the membership is exclusive and can be availed only on invite. But once you do get your hands on it, there’s no looking back.
