Dakshin Presents MasterChef Chronicles with Chef Kasi at ITC Windsor

on

Situated in the Sivaganga district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu,
Karaikudi is a heritage town, that is commonly referred to as “Chettinad”.
Against the backdrop of palatial houses built with limestones, the cooking
of Chettinad dishes is distinctly called “Achi Samayal”.

With over 20 years of experience and having worked at the Chettiar Palaces in Karaikudi, Chef Kasi has come to be known as no less than an artist himself, who cooks from his heart with a passion that is enviable.

This month, sample the authentic flavours of the Chettinad style as Chef
Kasi presents memories from his hometown – Karaikudi, in the form of
culinary experiences. Made of freshly ground masala, sundried meats and salted vegetables, the preparations are the perfect representation of the
region.

On the menu will be staples like Ragi Paniyaram, Thuvaram Parupu Vadai, Arisi Kozhukattai, Kai Kari Mandi, Acharya Kozhi Sukka, Karaikudi Naatu Kozhi Kozhambu, Urulai Podi Maas, Vanjara Meen Varuval and Yera Vanjanam, that will be served with Kal Dosa, Parotta and Tomato Rice. The desserts will include soul satisfying delicacies like Pazham Payasam and Sakkara Kozhukattai.

The Masterchef Chronicles is part of the Pan-India celebration to
commemorate 30 successful years of Dakshin, a signature brand that celebrates the rich diversity of South Indian cuisine, at ITC Hotels.
Through this series, the chefs will embark on a culinary journey to promote the cuisines from their respective birthplace.
