High Risk Of Chronic Diseases In Men Due To Plastic Content In Food

on

Consumption of packet foods can risk your health and cause chronic diseases in men says a recent study. It is also widely debated whether or not packaged food is good for our consumption. So let’s see what has been discovered.

1500 male participants were included in the study conducted by the researchers at the University of Adelaide and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute in a collaboration. The urine samples of 99.6% of these men had phthalates. These are chemicals that are found in plastic products.

The researchers also found out that the presence of such chemicals was due to consumption of food that is stored in plastic. Our diet consists highly of these processed and refined food. Earlier researches have also shown that high phthalate levels are caused due to consumption of soft drinks and pre-processed foods. Zumin Shi from the University of Adelaide quoted to IANS, “We found that the prevalence of cardiovascular disease, type-2 diabetes and high blood pressure increased among those men with higher total phthalate levels.”

So to be on a safer side, try to avoid food or beverages that come in plastic.
