Baking cookies for Christmas might just get easier! Meet CHiP, a smart oven designed by the team that brought you SideChef, with one purpose: baking you warm, fresh cookies. This special cookie oven bakes up to four cookies at a time, works with your own dough or their cookie “pods,” has Wi-Fi capability and can send personalized “cookie grams” as you eat. It even has a delay start mode so you can walk into the house after a long day at work to the aroma of freshly baked cookies. You’re picturing a scene from Jetson’s right now, aren’t you?
When talking about the inception of this idea, CEO Kevin Yu said, “We realized we wanted a device that made what we love easily, conveniently, and to perfection. We then re-imagined the best type of device that would be needed to accomplish this one specific task, explored what that would take, and realized all the pieces were right there in front of us.”
How does CHiP work?
This special cookie oven bakes up to four cookies at a time, and works with your own dough or their cookie pods. The dough pods include flavors like Power Protein Breakfast, Gluten Free Oatmeal Raisin and Peanut Butter Nutella Swirl.
There’s virtually no preparation or clean-up necessary! To get CHiP’s magical ten-minute cookies, you simply scan the pod’s QR code so the app recognizes which kind you’re trying to make. Then, it sends specialized baking instructions to the device, and a four-inch infrared carbon-fiber convection oven bakes them to perfection, all in ten minutes!
CHiP is currently available on Kickstarter through the month of November and while early birds can get a CHiP for a $99 pledge, the machine will retail for $144 when it hits the market. Bring out the glass of milk!
