The Chillis story started all the way over in Terlingua , Texas USA and 40 years later,it is still finding ways to delight its patrons. Burgers. Ribs. Fajitas. It all started with a dream: to create a place you’d want to go and hang out with good friends over a burger and a beer. With constant innovation and the need to give customers more, a whole new slew of items have been added to the menu and we were fortunate enough to get a sample. If you have ever visited Chilli’s you know that the menu is already quite extensive and the fact that we now have even more to choose from, makes us thrilled!.
The new refresher on the block is the Orange and Lime Caipirita. A Brazilian favourite mixed with Chillis own special twist. Muddled Lime, Orange, Sugar, Bitter and sweet orange syrup and Sprite. You know Chillis is dedicated to . For their drinks, a special secret blend of sweet and sour crystals is brought in all the way from the HQ at America. This drink is a flavour blast and pairs very well with the spicy and tangy Mexican food.
We tried the Creamy Jalapeno Wings and they simply drool worthy. Chillis recipes are carefully guarded secrets that have been formulated with great care in the head kitchens of USA and all the branches all over India follow the same perfection. The Chefs are trained exclusively at the Chillis kitchen in Mumbai. Which ever outlet you go to, same flavour guaranteed. The Santa Fe Sauce coating the crunchy jalapeno wings is a great example of this stellar flavour. Sprinkled with Queso fresco and drizzled with chilli garlic sauce, these new wings are perfect.
Bacon lovers rejoice, for the Signature Tableside Guacamole at Chillis now comes with a new option of loading it up with Bacon Bits.
We had to try the enchiladas from the New Enchiladas and Burritos section. The Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas are just too scrumptious. Home made soft pillowy tortillas,wrapping succulent chicken and sour cream dressing. The seasoning on the chicken is just right with the right amount of heat that blends perfectly with the Moneteray Jack Cheese inside the enchilada. Topped with a fresh and zingy corn and black bean salsa and served with more black beans and rice, this dish goes down easy.
The piece de resistance of the main course section is the new Sizzling Honey Chipotle Shrimp & Tenderloin. Surf and Turf done to absolute perfection. The perfect cut of Tenderloin steak marinated with Chillis spices and topped with Honey- Chipotle Glazed Shrimp and chopped green onions. The rich meaty flavour from the beef paired with the hot and sweet shrimp will just melt in your mouth. Served on a bed of blistered cherry tomatoes and green beans that have been tossed in fried garlic, a bite combining all the elements of the dish together is pure bliss.
Some of the other new items are the Country Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and green chilli sauce and the Herb marinated fish with citrus – chile rice.
Chillis sources all its produce from approved vendors across the city, country and even the world and all the staff are trained officially in good food safety practices.
Three new desserts grace the menu. A Rich Cheesecake served over a strawberry puree, A flavourful Mango Cake and the Skillet Chocolate Chip cookie. All three are worthy contenders and come highly recomended.
Chillis is the place to go to for authentic Mexican flavours and unique Tex Mex. No matter how many times you go there, you will feel like going again and again. With this extension in the menu, you will be spoilt for choice and surely return to keep enjoying their excellent fare.
