Fresh, hip and happening.
Chennai Food Guide is hosting a Farmer’s Market this Sunday (3rd May) from 8.00 am to 11.00 am. Home made condiments, organic vegetables and fruits, eggs, milk and milk produce will be up for sale.
Our favourite ice cream maker from Coorg, Shantala will be there with Old Mercara. Whatever you do, don’t leave without a bottle of her homemade peanut butter! She’s also got fig compote, squashes and filter coffee.
From down South comes Namma Oor Kadai with Kovilpatti Kadala muttai, Udangudi Karupatti and lots more.
A range of cheeses from JK Enterprises adds an international touch to the event. Find Parmesan, Cheddar, Gouda, Smoked Cheese, Halloumi, Mascarpone, Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Feta or Brie at their counter.
Pearl Spv will turn up the spice with their tangy pickles, murukkus and vadams.
Madras Bites is serving out some serious Madras favourites. Don’t you walk out without trying their Murukku Sandwich.
Did somebody say “Dessert”? 101 Strawberries will be bringing their signature lemon, cherry and apricot tarts.
Wash it all down with some Rocket Soda, Iced Elaneer, Rose milk and Sugar cane juice.
Also, if you’re worried that your kids will be cranky at leaving the house that early on a Sunday, don’t– they’ve roped in farm animals that your kids can play with till you’re done.
