Now, you don’t need your wallet to enjoy the delicious coffees and snacks at Cafe Coffee Day’s outlets. CCD has partnered with Patym to offer its customers cashless means to pay for the bill at all their outlets in India. Paytm, one of the leading digital payment platforms in the country, will encourage CCD’s customers to pay for the bill through their Paytm wallet. The partnership is seen as a growing trend with Paytm bringing digital payment to offline scenarios.

Increasing Digital Presence

Cafe Coffee Day, one of the major coffee chains in the country with over 1,400 outlets, has continued to increase its digital presence to reach more customers. Amid stiff competition from international chains like Starbucks and Costa Coffee, CCD has partnered with online food delivery platforms such as Swiggy to give its customers more ways to enjoy their products in the comfort of their own homes. The continued investment in the digital market has led to the current partnership with Paytm, which offers quick turnaround times and faster checkout process in all its outlets in the country.

Cashless Payments

Cashless transacting has turned into an emerging revenue model for Paytm as they look to cement themselves as one of the leading platforms in the country for cashless transactions. Speaking about their partnership with CCD, Kiran Vasireddy, Vice President of Paytm, said, “Paytm users will now be able to pay for their coffee through their favorite payment option- Paytm Cash. This is a part of our overall thrust to drive digital transactions in offline scenarios as we work towards our vision of a cashless nation.”

Paytm has continued to expand its services through partnering with several startups across all sectors of the country. Recently, Paytm has jumped into the hyper-local delivery services by partnering with Zomato and Booksmyshow. The initial focus on this segment will be on food ordering and table booking, among other services with further expansion in the future.
