Instructions
  1. Heat a pan with 2 tablespoons of oil. Then, add 1 cup washed and chopped cabbage pieces. Then, add 2-3 chopped green chilies, ½ tablespoon turmeric powder and required salt. Close the lid and stir between. When the cabbage leaves become soft, switch off the flame.
  2. Now add 2-3 tablespoons of tamarind paste, 1 tablespoon cumin seeds, 1-2 garlic cloves.
  3. Wait until it comes cool. Then, transfer this content to a blender and blend it well. Take it into a bowl and keep it aside.
  4. Heat a pan with 2 tablespoons of oil. When oil heated, add mustard seeds. When they start splitting, add ½ tablespoon cumin seeds, ½ tablespoon urad dal, 2-3 crushed garlic cloves, 2-3 broken red chilies and a few curry leaves. Stir it well. Switch off the flame. Now, add this tadka to the above blended cabbage chutney. Mix it well.
  5. Now the delicious and tasty cabbage chutney is ready to serve.
  6. Serve this cabbage chutney with hot steamed rice or with any dosa recipe.
Recipe Notes

You can also add tomatoes to this recipe. Tomatoes will change the taste of cabbage chutney in another form.
You can also add coriander leaves to the recipe.
