In case you haven’t been following up on the FIFA World Cup that’s taking place this June and July, the group stages have just finished and there have been some pretty shocking results so far. Mexico qualified for the round of 16 after South Korea handed current champions Germany a shock defeat in the dying moments of the game.
Even if you’re not a massive fan of football, but do enjoy your beer, Bud Light has announced that they will be providing peeps in California with free beer if Mexico does make to the Quarterfinals – quite a tall ask considering Mexico has only made to the third round twice with the last being way back in 1986.

While Bud Light hasn’t exactly spelled out just how Californians will be able to avail of the free beer – it’s free beer so there must be some peeps out there excited by the prospect. However, football fans will know that Mexico has to beat Brazil in order to make it to the quarterfinals, so don’t go counting on that free beer just yet.
However, if the group stages of the World Cup has taught us anything; it’s that anything can happen on the day so don’t count out those free Bud Lights just yet!
