Boozy Doughnuts: Hipster Town, Denver’s Latest Food Trend

on

When it comes to doughnuts, we’ve heard it all, from plain, and dusted, to sprinkled, and filled. We’ve even come across a few unique varieies of this fried, sugary treat such as the abominable cinnamon bun donut, or the exlusive Reese’s Peanut Butter donut, and even the famous cronut. Thought that would be the end of it all? Think again. Meet the boozy doughnuts.

That’s right, if your favorite vices happen to include drinking and desserts, you might want to pay attention because there’s a glorious place that will support all of your indulgences.

Habit Doughnut Dispensary, the booze-serving establishment that serves some of Denver’s best donuts, offers a variety of donuts that come infused with shots of liquor like whiskey, vodka, rum, or pretty much anything you want. The donuts come served with a plastic pipette with booze of your choice stuck right in the top, which you can remove and drink as you eat, or inject into your doughnut before eating it. Previously, the place served the booze in shot glasses on the side, according to the shop’s manager, Hayley Charles.

They have a huge range of insanely delicious donuts such as the Earl Grey doughnuts loaded with honey jack, drunken French toast doughnuts, bourbon-filled brioche doughnuts, the plain jane doughnut with a shot of fireball, doughnuts filled with baileys, raspberry doughnuts injected with vodka, and if you’re feeling brave, a whole box of drunken doughnut holes that is sure to get you buzzed.

Sure, whisky and doughnuts may never be the next coffee and doughnuts, but this combination is one that you dough-not want to miss!
