Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the cashew and raisins till they turn golden. Keep aside.
  2. Sieve the besan and cooking soda into a mixing bowl and make a paste adding water. Add some more water to get a flowing paste.
  3. Add the yellow food coloring.
  4. Using a boondi frying ladles, fry the batter to form small round and crisp boondis. Clean the boondi ladle using a cloth after every batch. Drain the boondis on an absorbent paper and keep aside.
  5. In a broad vessel, immerse the sugar in water and heat till you get sugar syrup of single thread consistency.
  6. Add the boondis to the sugar syrup along with the fried cashews, fried raisins, edible camphor, powdered cardamom, powdered cloves and sugar candy. Mix well.
  7. Ball up the mix into your desired size of ladoo. Squeeze and press well to let off any excess syrup or oil.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
Recipe Notes

You can divide the besan-cooking soda paste into two portions and add red food coloring to one half and yellow to the other. The final result will be gorgeous red-yellow boondi ladoos.
