How Bhumi Pednekar Lost 30 Kgs Without Losing Her Mind

on

Over the past few years the Hindi film industry has welcomed a number of new actresses that come flaunting a laudable weight loss story. While the likes of Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sonam Kapoor shed their extra kilos for the camera, another debutante decided to take the higher road by actually putting on more weight for her first movie. Bhumi Pednekar was anything but a poster girl when we saw her in Dum Laga Ke Haisha but the actress changed that with an impressive weight loss journey over the past few months.

Pednekar played the role of a chubby UP-based girl in her debut movie, which invariably meant putting on a little weight, which she has now burnt off with a healthy diet and regular exercise (although, may we point out just how gracefully she carried those extra kilos as well!). Turns out, the actress did away with almost 30 kilograms after her debut movie!

In an interview, Pednekar revealed that she was never a skinny girl but she was also never overweight and that is because her mother kept their weight and health in-check by giving them only healthy and nutritious meals. And keeping up with that practice, it was Bhumi’s mother who chalked out the actress’ diet to shed the maximum weight in a short period without foregoing her health. Here’s a look at the diva’s nourishing yet (visibly) effective diet.

Breakfast

The actress started her day with a 50ml shot of organic aloe vera juice on an empty stomach. For her breakfast, she ate three egg-white omelets topped with herbs and a side of multi-grain bread. This was at times swapped for a granola bar and a glass of skimmed milk.

Post Workout Snack

To repair her muscles after her workout session, Pednekar snacked on protein-rich foods like chana, chicken or fish with greens.

Lunch

Considering Bhumi’s love for Indian food, her lunch usually consisted of two small chapatis made of a mix of ragi, soya, chana and amaranth flour topped with ghee along with a big bowl of vegetables and a glass of buttermilk.

Evening Snack

Preceding her dinner, Pednekar had some fresh fruits and a cup of green tea.

Dinner

For her last meal of the day, Bhumi had a two-course dinner that started with a bowl of salad with different greens, seeds, nuts and cold-pressed oil followed by some grilled fish or chicken with brown rice.

Clearly, the actress remained true to her diet and workout and has managed to come out a stunner and a true inspiration for many by letting go of the extra weight and at the same time not running after a skinny form. With the trailer for her latest release Toilet Ek Prem Katha out, Bhumi looks like a whole other person in her new fitter skin. Take a look at the trailer below.
