There are countless memes on the internet celebrating the end of 2016; it’s not been the best year in terms of news, wouldn’t you agree? However, we thought we’d bid goodbye to 2016 on a positive note; with a list of the best new restaurants we visited in Mumbai this year.
Zorawar Kalra, of Massive Restaurants PVT brought Farzi Cafe from Delhi to Mumbai. It met all our expectations with delicious, innovative cocktails, food and an unpolished, rustic decor.

The JW Marriott Juhu opened Dashanzi, a progressive Asian restaurant which served velvety sashimi, beautifully rolled sushi and a show stealing dessert. Head here to read more.
Michelin starred chef Atul Kochar brought Not Really Indian to Bandra Kurla Complex, It focuses on dishes created by the Indian diaspora using Indian recipes but foreign ingredients.
Cafe Mockingbird is a book focused restaurant in Churchgate which serves well done European fare. Read more about it here.
Inspired by the Raastafarian music movement, Raasta opened its doors in Khar and serves bong cocktails, holds live gigs and has a menu with dishes like Sambuca cajun basa and Pork chips cubano.
Launched by the folks behind Suzette, Kitchen Garden was opened late this year in Bandra. It serves organic salads and sandwiches like falafel bowls, chocolate granola and brioches.
Mibonasa opened early this year in Navi Mumbai. It serves South Asian fare from a range of countries like Japan, Vietnam and China. Head here to read more.

Fine dining restaurant, Ellipsis opened a bakery in Worli followed by one in Bandra. The bakery serves artisanal breads and, cookies, cupcakes and other decadent desserts.
