Mark your calendars, because come February 3rd there will be two more waffle joints to add to Bengaluru’s already extensive list. WAFL, the Russian waffle chain, is all set to make its foray into the Indian market, and what better place to start than the Garden City?

The waffle chain will open two outlets in Bengaluru which means that they will have 50 Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) outlets all over the world, in addition to opening stores in New Delhi and Surat in the first phase launch.

Pan-India Expansion The Goal

“We are going to be present in each state of India by 2020. Apart from Gujarat and Rajasthan, all other states will also have non-vegetarian items in the menu,” My Business Russia International Business head Adzhai Sharma said.

“Apart from franchisee stores, we will also come up with our own flagship, company-operated stores,” he said. WAFL plans to open 80 outlets across India in 2018 under the franchise model. Their corn-based products are unique to WAFL and they hope that their plan of targetting the untapped Indian breakfast market as well as the conventional fast food market, by serving foodies trendy food at decent prices will be successful.

“We are positive that Indian market will like our products, we are eyeing pan India expansion,” Executive Partner Rajeev Chawla said.
