Bengali Food Takes Centre Stage At World Food India 2017 In Delhi

World Food India (WFI) is an annual food exhibition organised by the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The food fair brings together the best of Indian food entrepreneurs, manufacturers, retailers, and, of course, Indian food under one expansive 24,000 sq. mt. roof. The exhibition is categorised into sections for visitors, exhibitors, investors, and food aficionados.

Moreover, every year the event has one Indian state that takes center stage and this year it’s West Bengal that will be under the spotlight.

WFI 2017 is being touted as the largest trade fair of its kind to be held so far in India, which means Bengali food and cuisine could not have asked for a better podium to showcase their culinary excellence and its success in the food processing sector to the world.

Needless to say, West Bengal is gearing up to put its best jhaal forward; preparing an agri-business and food-processing logistics blueprint, which will include development like the increase in export of mangoes and litchis by more than 40 per cent that Bengal witnessed in 2016-17, reports Web India 123.

In addition to serving up a gastronomical storm at its ‘Food Street’, WFI will also provide an excellent platform to farmers for interacting and connecting with Indian and global leaders across the food value chain.

 

The World Food India fair will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi from 3-5 November, 2017.
