Bangalore’s Newest Brewery Aurum Brew Works Pays Tribute to Karnataka with its Menu and the World with its Beer

on

If there is ever a new sobriquet for Bangalore to be had, it would be the city of breweries. With over 65 microbreweries, and counting, a good beer is never too far away. New on the brewery scene is Aurum, at Sarjapur, which promises an experience that goes beyond the diverse benchmarks that have already been set.

How are they doing this? By being true to their name Aurum – derived from the chemical symbol of gold – Au, meaning gold in Latin. The brain child of Dinesh Arora and Sumit Gulati, Aurum is about setting the gold standard when it comes to food, beverage and hospitality, ensuring that here is a place you will step away from well satiated and content each and every time.

As for the brewery – launching with 6 beers created by George Jacob of The Beer Chronicles, the current range offers popular favorites such as the Amber Lager, Hefeweizen, Witbier, Stout and an IPA. In addition, there’s also, on tap, a brewer’s special that you should definitely try when you visit.

With Chef Suresh Venkataramana at the helm, the menu focuses in equal measure on Western, Indian as well as Karnataka cuisine. Think starters like Goli Bajji, Maddur Vade, Chicken Ghee Roast and seasonal fish fries. Main courses the likes of Badnekai Yennai, Hagal Kai Gojju, Batata Gassi, Kaima Curry, Mangalore Surmai Curry and Mutton Pulao among other culinary delights.

Aurum is also home to an in-house bakery that serves up some amazing desserts as well fresh bread and buns! We’ll be paying a visit to the brewery this week so stay tuned for our review!
